Near-Death Experience After-Effects: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

Presentation: Nearly all who have experienced NDEs experience after-effects. Although these after-effects are common, they are not well understood, have not been broadly examined and are only now becoming part of the conversation. According to research I’ve conducted, NDE after-effects include physiologic, cognitive, spiritual and emotional transformations. The research included questionnaires, interviews and readings of more than 50 individuals who experienced NDE’s and a variety of after-effects. What do these after-effects mean and why do they occur? Conclusions from this research will be discussed in my paper and presentation and include the alteration of energy following an NDE and the role of the universe and mission as a factor in the event. It is hoped this study will inform researchers, practitioners and experiencers.

Bio: Debra Diamond, Ph.D., a former Wall Street money manager who left a high-profile job to pursue a life of spirituality and purpose. Through a transformational experience, I found out that my ‘good instincts’ were so much more. That the power I was dealing with was not conventional. That it was meant to be used for far reaching purposes. These powers led me to the metaphysical realm and eventually to the study of near-death experiences. She is the author of Life After Near Death: Miraculous Stories of Healing and Transformation in the Extraordinary Lives of People with Newfound Powers (New Page Books, 2016) and a practicing psychic/medium. She’s is presently working on another book right now that will be published in 2018. Follow her work at
