Jungian Symbols And The New Science
(Board Member of the Jung Society of the Triangle)
The Swiss psychologist Carl Jung distinguished between images that are signs and those that are symbols. He wrote, “Symbols are bridges thrown out towards an unknown shore.” Contemporary science has created or discovered images that seem to fit Jung’s notion of symbols. We will explore images from cosmology and fractals as symbols. This will be an image rich, PowerPoint presentation illustrating signs and symbols including images from contemporary science.
